Pulwama, Jan 05 (KNO): Three militants affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammad including a non-local were killed in an encounter in Chandgam area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district, officials said on Wednesday. Inspector General of Police for Kashmir zone Vijay Kumar said that three JeM militants included one non local were killed in Chandgam encounter. He said that incriminating material, arms and ammunition including 2 M-4 carbine and 1 AK series rifle were recovered from the spot. A senior police officer told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that identification of other two slain militants is being ascertained. Earlier, an official said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) on specific information about the presence of militants in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering a gunfight—(KNO)
